Extroverted Feeling (Fe): Crowley's most obvious trait is his ability to sympathize and understand others. He finds it simple to put people at ease with a charming smile, which contrasts with his friend Halt's grim temperament. Crowley grows famous over the years for being one of the only people who can poke fun at Halt, who most people treat with slightly frightened respect. He is social and gregarious, annoying Halt by talking just for the sake of talking.
His main objective in The Tournament at Gorlan is recruiting decommissioned rangers and he does so by appealing to their sense of duty. His own sense of duty is powerful, and he is surprised when others aren't as enthusiastic in the fulfillment of their oaths. Once he understands their motivations however, he knows exactly what it will take to win them over.
Even though Halt is the better strategist, Crowley is unanimously elected leader of the rogue rangers for his ability to command and coordinate fairly and efficiently.
He allows Halt to get tossed off of Abelard the first time he mounts him because it's a ranger tradition, and "everyone does it."
Introverted Sensing (Si): Crowley's quest in The Tournament at Gorlan is a mission to restore the old ranger ways, rehabilitating the corps to make it like he remembers it again. He has a clear image of who people are based on past experience. He refuses to believe that his friend Prince Duncan has gone rogue and he has doubts about Morgorath's intentions based on the evil he has seen from him in the past. This faithfulness and knowledge directs his actions and by extension Halt's who trusts his opinion. Fortunately Crowley is correct in his assumptions and his ability to notice when people are acting out of character is often more helpful than Halt's cynical attitude.
Extroverted Intuition (Ne): Crowley is known for having a silver tongue, he quickly assesses people based on his Fe and has great instincts about people. While he doesn't have the Ni tendency to plan ahead, his insights are almost never wrong, especially when they have to do with people.
He is never lost in unfamiliar scenarios, improvising when his Si knowledge is insufficient.
Crowley quickly picks up on the fact that Lady Pauline is attracted to Halt rather than himself while his friend is left completely clueless.
Introverted Thinking (Ti): Logic isn't usually Crowley's weapon of choice, but he discusses and understands tactics with Halt, the more strategic of the two. He often uses logic to sway people to his side of an argument. He often argues with Halt for the sake of amusement, but he has trouble actually proving his points to Halt's Te logic, whether he is actually correct or not.
