Rangers Apprentice: Will Treaty [ENTP]
Extroverted Intuition (Ne): Will is curious about everything. His inquisitive mind lets him read between the lines and discern motivations. He thinks quickly and sees the potential of objects and people in his environment. This lets him defeat his enemies in unconventional but nonetheless effective ways.
He earns the nickname chocho, meaning butterfly for his ability to jump between ideas and conclusions faster than the average person. He rarely feels any loyalty to tradition for it's own sake, and never holds a grudge, taking people and events as they come without preconception.
In book one he shows his trademark curiosity almost constantly. The only reason he became a ranger is that he is curious enough about the Baron's note concerning him that he is willing to break into his office to find out what it says.
When he learns that the Kalkara are picking of enemies of Morgorath, Will makes the connection that his mentor Halt is in danger.
Extroverted Thinking (Ti): Will is a friendly outgoing person, but he is essentially an analyst. He is constantly analyzing the world around him, another component of his curious nature. He calculates strategies and tactics based on observation. He never gives up on an idea because it's too outlandish, instead seeing the logic that will make it work in the real world.
In book two Will deduces the implications of Morgorath's bridge. He follows the logic of a master strategist given only a few components of the plan. He then formulates a plan of his own. He understands exactly what it takes to take down Morgorath's bridge, even putting himself and his friends in danger instead of leaving the success of his plan to luck.
Extroverted Feeling (Fe): Will is a gregarious individual, falling easily in with people he doesn't know. His charm his hard to ignore. Even Jarl Eric is eventually won over by his charisma.
He is also a natural leader, knowing exactly how to motivate people and sympathize with them. Even though he often takes charge, he almost never tells people to do things they don't want to do, instead appealing to Ti logic to get them on his side.
Will is a very modest individual and doesn't look for much praise. However, even from the beginning he seeks approval from his mentor Halt. At first he finds Halt's reserved nature disconcerting, but he soon learns to see the subtler signs of Halt's approval.
Introverted Sensing (Si): In the first book Will has very little idea of his past. He knows that his father fought Morgorath but little else. Working from these facts he creates his own version of his father, a knight in shining armor. He holds onto this fantasy for a very long time, until Halt gives him the correct version.
He remembers details that can come in handy, and retains impressive muscle memory after years of practice with a longbow. He is quite possibly the best bowman in Araluen, able to fire with deadly accuracy and range instinctively.
